Swift Architects was established in 1996 to focus on the design of domestic
and public buildings that contribute to the built fabric of our communities
and cities. Our expertise is creatively solving problems through architectural
design. We believe that good architecture and design not only satisfy our
clients’ programmatic goals and needs, but also bring intrinsic value
and timeless quality to the built environment. Above all, our goal is to
create buildings and spaces that lift and inspire the human spirit through
design, craft and Architecture.
Design
Philosophy
Architecture is both an art and a science, and as Architects, we are concerned
with the seamless integration of technical and aesthetic issues that result
in work that has consistent clarity, integrity, and character. Our design
approach is a problem solving process; it begins with the systematic analysis
of the
building program and context, and through a synthesis of ideas and concepts,
the process is completed with a solution expressed in built architectural
form. Through a thoughtful analysis of the project’s unique opportunities and
constraints, we develop a comprehensive architectural solution that is responsive
to our clients’ goals, needs, budget, and specific site.
We use drawings and models in the development of the conceptual design and
to communicate the idea to the client in terms of spatial character and organization,
scale, order, material, light, and building form. Regardless of the scope
and type of the project, our approach is straightforward and consistent:
1) Develop a clear understanding of the essence and challenges of each project
through dialogue and a thorough assessment of the existing context,
2) Work in collaboration with the client, consultants, and general contractor
to develop workable solutions to each challenge,
3) Present a variety of thoughtful and alternative solutions for consideration
by the entire team, and finally
4) Create an appropriate design response that incorporates the team’s
best thoughts and efforts.
Architectural
Services
We are a small design and service oriented architectural practice that operates
in a studio environment. Each client receives direct principal involvement,
attention, and personal commitment to their building project. We enjoy a working
relationship with a variety of consultants and are able to customize the professional
team based on the unique requirements of each project.
Our work addresses specific needs for specific clients and we offer a full
range of architectural services to assist our clients in achieving their building
goals.
