Trinity Site Plan

Site Plan

Trinity Episcopal Church was founded in 1893. In 1917, the parish began construction of the sanctuary building, designed by Cram & Ferguson. The construction was completed in 1921. Subsequent building projects created a Fellowship Hall, Parish House and East Wing Addition, Morrow Chapel and the Fondren Wing Addition. The church was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980.

The goal for the 2002 Project Definition Phase was to determine the most appropriate way, from a stewardship perspective, to utilize the capital funds raised by the Trinity Church Community. The Building Committee developed three principals to assist it in prioritizing the facility needs of the community:
1. Repair and improve the outward appearance of the Church
2. Provide adequate parking
3. Provide comfortable classroom and meeting space for parishioners.

Renovation and addition scenarios including the construction of a new building wing were presented during a consensus building workshop. From that meeting, a Project Definition Document was developed that addressed the following items:
1. Site development including a new parking lot and an accessible entrance into the church facilities
2. Historic restoration of the church exterior
3. Exterior lighting of the stained glass windows and the church building
4. Renovation of the heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems (HVAC)
5. Interior renovation of the Parish House/ East Wing Addition and Fellowship Hall
